Farmers’ Almanac predicts this winter will be a “Polar Coaster”

Central Florida — Enjoy your Tuesday weather, because the wild weather ride begins tomorrow and won’t end until late Spring - according to the Farmers’ Almanac.

Today will be a bit on the warm side, with a high near 84, said WFTV Meterologist Brian Shields.

Expect showers to move into the area in the evening with the big cool down coming Wednesday with highs only in the 60’s.

Temperatures rebound Thursday and then rain chances pick up just in time for the weekend.

If it sounds like a weather roller coaster - it might be!

The Farmers’ Almanac is calling the  winter 2019-20 a “polar coaster.”

The book, known for long-range weather, predicts a “freezing, frigid and frosty winter” for two-thirds of the country.

The worst conditions are expected for the middle of the nation or the areas east of the Rockies reaching to the Appalachians.

More snow than normal is predicted for the North Eastern States and Spring 2020 is also expected to be late.

The book says Florida's winter will be milder and drier than normal with the coldest temperatures in mid to late January and early February.

But, the second half of February, April and May are expected to be hotter than average with more rainfall in the Northern half of the state.

The Farmers'  Almanac has been used to predict weather since 1818.
