Disney World temporarily suspends ticket sales

Orlando, Fla. — Walt Disney World announced it will begin to reopen July 11, but they also said they will temporarily stop selling tickets to their parks and resorts.

The Disney theme park, which employs some 70,000 people, plans to begin a phased reopening first, for its Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks on the 11th and then July 15 for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

All parks will operate on a reduced capacity and in order to manage the guests that have already purchased admission, tickets sales are also on hold - at least for now.

This means that existing ticket holders and annual pass holders will have the first chance to make a reservation to enter the park through a new reservation system.

More information about the system and when ticket sales will resume is still forthcoming.

Here’s Disney World's full statement on the pausing of ticket sales and reservations:

“At this time, we are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so we can focus on guests with existing tickets and reservations. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make a theme park reservation before new tickets are sold; we will be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details. We will resume new sales of tickets and Disney Resort hotel reservations after that period of time. Theme park reservations will be limited due to attendance limitations and will be subject to availability.”

It appears you can still purchase an annual pass.

I checked the website and was able to put an annual pass in my cart, however I did not give a credit card to try to purchase the item.
