Disney CEO Bob Iger named Time’s Businessperson of the year

Orlando, Fla. — Disney corporation CEO Bob Iger has been named Time's Businessperson of the Year for 2019.

According to Business Insider, since Iger became CEO of Disney in 2005, he has raised profits 335%.

This year, Disney became the first studio to make over $10 billion at the worldwide box office in a calendar year.  Iger also orchestrated the launch of the company's new streaming service Disney Plus.  Iger also opened Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the billion-dollar Star Wars expansions at Disney World in Orlando and at Disneyland in California.

Mr.  Iger has also amassed a sizeable personal fortune, that Forbes recently reported at $690 million.

Other Time "persons of the year" in various categories, include teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg as Person of the Year, Lizzo as Entertainer of the Year, and the U.S. Women's Soccer Team as Athlete of the Year.
