A singer/songwriter from New Smyrna Beach and his girlfriend from Orlando are big hits on The X Factor USA this season. Now the Daytona Beach Bandshell is hoping to draw fans to a watch party that could be shown live on FOX.
Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton began singing two years ago when they met at the beach where he was singing from the tailgate of his truck. She told her friends that she called "dibs" on Kinsey that day. They've been dating since.
Kinsey credits Jason Mraz as a musical influence, while Deaton is more in tuned with everyday popular music played on the radio, he told News 96.5
The Daytona Beach Bandshell is planning watch parties on Wednesday, November 13 and Thursday November 14 at 8 p.m.
Twelve contestants remain on the live show.
