Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy has launched a reading challenge for students central Florida students.
The contest, known as “Stephanie’s Scholars” is open to K-12 students who live in Florida’s 7th Congressional District.

News 96.5 WDBO spoke to Rep. Murphy about the program.
“I was always an avid reader and my kids now are avid readers and I think it’s just such an important thing to encourage young people to do,” said Murphy.
The contest is broken up into three age groups, K-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade. Elementary and middle school students will need to read at least five books to qualify. High school students will need to read at least ten.
