Authorities in Miami, Florida were surprised to find an 11-foot, 600-pound alligator taking a stroll in a local backyard Friday.
Law enforcement checked to see if the alligator had been injured while "At the same time, keeping a safe distance away," said Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Ignatius Carroll Jr.
"It broke through a chain-link fence and ended up in their backyard," said Carroll.
Although wet and slimy, Miami PD and a Fish and Wildlife were able to wrangle the large reptile and euthanize it.
