Hillboro, Oregon - A kitten is going strong after a cruel attempt to discard of her.
A garbage collector was on his route to empty cans when he came across one that wouldn’t dump properly.
“While trying to empty the can using a hydraulic arm, the driver noticed the contents of the can were not emptying,” the sheriff’s office said. “Upon further inspection, he noticed a small cat, encased in spray foam, hanging upside down from its back legs.”
The tiny cat let out ‘mews’ of help toward the driver, who rushed her to a local veterinarian office.
Thankfully, the Bonnie L Hays Small Animal Shelter says the 8-week-old cat is expected to make a full recovery.
Currently, it’s unknown who abused the kitten so terribly since the trash can is for several homes on the property, including two houses and several rented outbuildings.
“With all the people coming and going from the property, it’s unclear who may be responsible for this act of animal cruelty,” the sheriff’s office said.
It’s believed she’s from a recent litter of feral cats.
