Voters in Florida may have to wait until 2022 to decide whether or not to legalize recreational marijuana.
Make it Legal is the group backing the effort and they said Monday they were ending their bid to get the issue on the ballot by November, instead saying they will focus on 2022.
The Sun-Sentinel reports that the change in strategy comes due to the narrow time-frame left to submit and verify the more than 700,000 signatures on their petition.
The deadline for validation is February 1 and to make the ballot 766,200 signatures must be valid.
The signed petitions are valid for two years.
