Florida - The National Council for Home Safety and security has released the 2019 list of Florida’s safest cities.
One hundred and thirty four cities with a population of 10,000 or greater were ranked in the state based on their police reports, three Central Florida cities ranked in the top ten.
Satellite Beach in Brevard County was ranked as the safest city in the state up from the third spot last year.
The group compiled the list on the number of crimes per 1,000 people.
Nationwide the same group ranks the Sunshine State 31st in the area of property crime and 37th in safety when it comes to violent crime concerns.
That being said, here are the 2019 top ten safest cities in Florida based on FBI Unified Crime Report Statistics.
1. Satellite Beach
2. Key Biscayne
5. North Palm Beach
8. Lake Mary
9. St. Cloud
10. Punta Gorda
Other cities to note:
68. Winter Garden
134. Lauderdale Lakes
A side note, Parkland comes in at 15 in 2019 compared to 3 last year.
