Jupiter, Fla. — More than 400 students across nine Jupiter schools are eating hot lunch today after a local realtor stepped-up and paid their lunch tabs.
Andrew Levy learned the students would not get a full meal in their school cafeteria until the bills were paid and decided to take action.
He paid the $944.34 lunch debt last week.
Levy said he has no agenda and no personal connection to the district, he just wanted to help and told reporters that children shouldn’t have to go hungry.
After he paid the bills and brought the families back to zero, Levy posted about it on Facebook, and soon, hundreds of people commented asking if they could contribute next time.
Well, what a week it’s been. I decided to do a simple act by paying off the school lunch debt for the Jupiter School System so all school children could have a hot lunch and this happened. CBS, NBC and ABC!!
