Florida — A new report shows Florida is the second-fastest-growing medical marijuana market in the nation.
The numbers come from the new quarterly release of the Marijuana Business Factbook which updates each state market.
The site analyzes each state and releases patient counts on a quarterly basis.
Marijuana Business Daily sifted through the data and found that Oklahoma has the fastest growing medical marijuana market with MMJ patients representing 4.1 percent of the state's total population.
Florida was second on the list with patients who have already joined the marijuana registry making up 1.6 percent of the population.
The room for growth in Florida is huge, which is expected to be boosted by the legalization of smokable flower in March and continued wide access to the states 119 dispensaries.
Medical marijuana is legally available in 36 states and Washington DC.
