Disney unveils plans for new Epcot entrance

Say bye-bye to the giant rectangle stones with tiny etched pictures on them.

The Leave A Legacy photo stones will be moved to a new location, just outside of the park gates.

In the new plans for Epcot’s entrance, those stones are being replaced planters and other landscaping features.

Epcot will also reveal a ‘play pavilion’ - a space turned into an innovative city of fun.

The once ‘Wonders of Life’ pavilion will now feature interactive experiences with Disney characters and hands-on activities.

Attractions Magazine reports:

“This innovative, new pavilion is beyond anything we’ve ever created and is completely unique to Epcot,” said Zach Riddley, portfolio executive for Walt Disney Imagineering. “Built on the power of play, it introduces an immersive and interactive ‘city’ where you can explore, create, and interact with some of your favorite Disney characters. This is an experience worthy of our bold vision for Epcot – and another signature element of our transformation.”

The new space transformation of the ‘play pavilion’ should be ready in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
