Central Florida businesses play important role to ISS missions

As incredible as NASA’s feats are in the realm of space, they come at no small price.

In fact, the administration is under constant budget strains.

But thanks to many businesses within the Central Florida area, they’ve been able to make trips to the ISS and back numerous times.

As the Orlando Business Journal writes, "the space station has served as a research hub, now heavily used by private companies to test and develop products."

In fact, “more than 60% of 2017’s mission costs for the ISS National Lab — a testing ground for space technology — were covered by commercial activities.”
