    The funeral for fashion designer Kate Spade will be held in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. The Kansas City Star reported that a funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church. >> Read more trending news  According to Spade’s father, Frank Brosnahan, the funeral will be in the same church where her grandparents were married. Spade, who co-founded the fashion brand Kate Spade New York with her husband, Andy Spade, died by suicide at age 55 in New York.  People reported that Spade’s family has asked for donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or Wayside Waifs, a no-kill animal shelter in Kansas City, in lieu of flowers.
  • New Jersey is honoring native son and award-winning celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain with a “food trail” of his favorite New Jersey restaurants. >> Read more trending news  Although the popular writer, storyteller and host of CNN’s Emmy-winning “Parts Unknown” was born in New York, according to his biography, Bourdain grew up in Leonia, New Jersey, and spent his summers at the Jersey shore. Bourdain, 61, was found dead almost two weeks ago in his luxury hotel room in Kaysersberg, France, while working on an episode of “Parts Unknown.” The medical examiner ruled his death a suicide. Fans around the world were grief-stricken with news of his death, including those in New Jersey.  Camden Assemblyman Paul Moriarty wanted to find a way to honor the renowned globetrotter and proposed an official Anthony Bourdain Food Trail that would include the 10 restaurants he visited during a 2015 episode of “Parts Unknown,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. >> Related: Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain cremated in France, remains returning to U.S. The proposed trail, which the state’s Division of Travel and Tourism would need to establish, would include “Kubel’s in Barnegat Light, Hiram’s Roadstand in Fort Lee, Knife & Fork, Dock’s Oyster House, Tony’s Baltimore Grill, and James’ Salt Water Taffy in Atlantic City, Tony and Ruth Steaks and Donkey’s Place in Camden, Lucille’s Country Cooking in Barnegat, and Frank’s Deli in Asbury Park,” the Inquirer reported. Moriarty called Bourdain a New Jersey food icon and said the state should create a food trail as a way to honor him. “There’s no question that Anthony’s road to fame was not an easy one,” Moriarty said in a statement, according to the newspaper.  “Even after international fame, he never forgot his Jersey roots.   • Actress Eva Longoria and her husband, media mogul José Bastón, welcomed their first child together Tuesday, June 19. Giving the first photo of her son to HOLA! USA, the actress can be seen cradling Santiago Enrique Bastón. He was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles weighing 6 pounds and 13 ounces. >> Read more trending news  “We are so grateful for this beautiful blessing,” the couple told the publication. Throughout her pregnancy, the 43-year-old actress stayed busy. Posts on her Instagram page show her at various events and working on multiple projects. During that time, she also got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and had to say goodbye to her beloved dog, Jinxy, June 14. Longoria confirmed her pregnancy in December, when she was four months along. Santiago is the first child for Longoria. Bastón, 50, president of Televisa, the largest media company in Latin America, has three children of his own from an earlier marriage. Bastón and Longoria started dating in 2013 and married three years later in Valle de Bravo, Mexico.
  • Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey has broken several records throughout her career, and she’s recently added another to her list of accomplishments. >> Read more trending news  The former talk show host and founder of OWN network earned a spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which lists the world’s 500 richest people. Winfrey, 64, ranked 494 on the list, making her the first black female billionaire ever featured in the round-up.  Winfrey’s fortune hit $4 billion this week thanks to her stake in Weight Watchers International Inc., according to Bloomberg. The company’s share has more than doubled since she partnered with the brand in 2015.  Her ownership of the “Oprah Winfrey Show,” her cable network OWN and recent partnership with Apple have also contributed to her fortune.  Winfrey is one of 65 women and one of six female entrepreneurs on the list.   • Amandla Stenberg, an actress who gained fame as the ill-fated Rue in “The Hunger Games,” has come out as gay. Known as a vocal supporter of social justice issues from the erasure of non-normative sexualities to the Black Lives Matter movement, Stenberg has previously said she identified herself as bisexual in public. She also said that she would also use the word pansexual to describe herself, meaning she is not limited in who she likes in terms of biological sex, gender or gender identity.   • Rapper XXXTentacion was shot and later died in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Monday. TMZ first reported the 20-year-old, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was unresponsive and, according to a witness, did not appear to have a pulse. The celebrity gossip site reported that died shortly after, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. He was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m. According to People, the shooting was reported at 3:57 p.m. “There was a shooting in Deerfield. Our officers are on the scene and we’re gathering information,” Broward County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jonathan Fishman told Miami New Times earlier Monday afternoon. “We can't confirm anything else right now but will release more information soon.” TMZ reported that the Broward County Fire Department said Onfroy was rushed to a hospital. A graphic, censored video on the gossip site shows the scene of the shooting. >> Read more trending news  Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ indicates the shooting was reported as a drive by. Onfroy was at a motorcycle dealership when the shooting occurred. Onfroy recently appeared on XXL Mag’s Freshman Class issue. Winning the fan vote to appear on the cover, he posed with amaiyah, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PnB Rock, MadeinTYO, Playboi Carti, Aminé, Kap G, KYLE and Ugly God. His second album “?” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Outside of music, Onfroy is awaiting trial, accused of domestic violence against his pregnant girlfriend. According to an October 2016 arrest report, Onfroy was charged with battery and aggravated assault of a pregnant victim and false imprisonment. He pleaded no contest to charges of armed home invasion robbery and aggravated battery with a firearm and was released from jail on bail March 26, 2017. He was ordered to serve six years of probation. He was accused by prosecutors of witness tampering and was jailed again in December 2017 before being released on house arrest.  In March of this year, Onfroy was released from house arrest so he could go on tour.
  • Award-winning celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has been cremated in France and his remains are returning to the United States on Friday, according to news reports. >> Read more trending news  Bourdain, the host of CNN’s popular, Emmy-winning “Parts Unknown” for 11 seasons, was found dead in in Kaysersberg, France, a week ago. The medical examiner ruled his death a suicide after he was found unresponsive in his luxury hotel room by close friend and fellow chef Eric Ripert. Bourdain, 61, was in France filming another episode for his show. He was cremated in a private service in France, according to People magazine and other outlets who cited anonymous sources. Since his divorce from Octavia Busia in 2016 was not finalized, she is legally his next of kin.   • Nearly three years after her exit was announced, TV personality Giuliana Rancic is returning to E! News as a co-host. E! Entertainment announced Friday that Rancic will co-host the weeknight show with Jason Kennedy this fall. Yahoo! Entertainment reported that she last co-anchored from 2005 to 2015. She first appeared on E! in 2002 when she was a correspondent at E! News. >> Read more trending news  Variety reported that Rancic has made other appearances on the network since exiting E! News, hosting “E! Live From the Red Carpet” and other special events, like the network’s coverage of the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. “Returning to host ‘E! News’ is every bit as thrilling to me today as it was 16 years ago when I joined the show and embarked on this wonderful career,” Rancic said in a statement. “Co-hosting alongside one of my best friends, Jason Kennedy, with one of the most talented teams in entertainment journalism, makes this move even more special. I can’t wait to reconnect with the ‘E! News’ audience and go on this journey together once again.” During the time Rancic was no longer hosting the weeknight show, Maria Menounos stepped in as co-host. She left in July 2017 after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which has since been surgically removed. Catt Sadler was a co-host on “E! News,” but left in December because of what she said was a “massive disparity in pay” between herself and Kennedy. Rancic returns to “E! News” Sept. 4.
  • NeNe Leakes announced on Instagram Thursday that her husband,Gregg Leakes, has cancer. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” castmate didn’t provide details in terms of where his cancer is. In May, Gregg Leakes was in a hospital for two weeks for unspecified reasons. Last November, he was hospitalized for a dangerously low heartbeat.  >> Read more trending news  The couple married in 1997 and divorced in 2011 but reconciled and remarried two years later.  Reaction from fans has been strong. She received more than 175,000 likes on the post in 17 hours.  “Our New Normal and the fight begins,” she captioned the post. In a follow-up post, NeNe Leakes thanked fans for their support and gave an update on how her husband is doing. “We have been so overwhelmed with the out pouring of love, support, thoughtfulness and prayers. Some of you have educated us on cleanses, diets & holistic healthcare. We wouldn’t know some of these things if it wasn’t for the reach we have been blessed to have.” “So far, Gregg is doing great! He feels good with the exception of not being able to eat a lot,” she wrote. “The cancer was removed! Now we have to decide whether we do chemo or not? Would you?” She also thanked past and current “RHOA” cast members for their support, including Kim Zolziack, whose relationship with NeNe Leakes has been strained. “Thank you so much to the ladies I work with and have worked with in the past for sending gifts, love and just good ole words of encouragement,” Leakes said in a follow up post, tagging Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, Marlo Hampton, Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks, Eva Marcille, Shamea Morton, Lisa Wu and Zolciak. “We hope you all know that this really means a lot.”
  • Comedian David Spade has donated $100,000 to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, following the death of his sister-in-law, designer Kate Spade. Kate Spade died by suicide June 5 in New York at age 55. People confirmed the news of the donation. >> Read more trending news  “More people suffer from mental health issues than we may realize but no one should ever feel ashamed to reach out for support,” People quoted Spade as saying.  “If you or anyone you know is in need of help or guidance please contact the national suicide prevention hotline at 800-273-8255 or go to NAMI.org to learn more and help those who may be in need.” According to the NAMI website, the organization works to educate, advocate for, listen to and support individuals and families to raise awareness about mental health. It is the largest grassroots mental health organization in the country. On the day of Kate Spade’s death, Andy Spade, 56, her husband and the older brother of David Spade, said she was in treatment for depression and anxiety. He also said he moved out of their home 10 months ago. Their 13-year-old daughter, Frances Beatrix, split her time with each parent. “Kate suffered from depression and anxiety for many years. She was actively seeking help and working closely with her doctors to treat her disease, one that takes far too many lives. We were in touch with her the night before and she sounded happy,” Andy Spade said in a statement.  “There was no indication and no warning that she would do this. It was a complete shock. And it clearly wasn’t her. There were personal demons she was battling.”
