Those of us that have semi-annual Walt Disney World passes might have found themselves in a fit of depression when we realized that two classic Disney rides would be going away before we got a chance to ever see them again.
But Mickey Mouse heard our cries over the Great Movie Ride and Universe of Energy closing down on August 13th and has decided to lift some block-out dates so that we have a chance to say goodbye.
According to Walt Disney World News Today, there are no specifics yet on which dates in August will be lifted from the block-out dates, but that information is expected later this week.
The pass exceptions will only apply to Hollywood Studios and Epcot, where the retiring rides are respectively, but guests can obviously enjoy the whole park those days, not just the rides.
In the not-so-far-away future, Universe of Energy (Ellen's Energy Adventure) will be replaced by a Guardians of the Galaxy ride, while the Great Movie Ride will house Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
