NAPLES, Fla. — More than 22,500 people have volunteered to help victims of hurricanes, racking up over one million hours of service, according to Gov. Rick Scott and Volunteer Florida.

“As families come together to celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones, we are all thankful for the hard work of the many selfless volunteers who have responded to those in need following Hurricanes Irma and Maria,” said Scott in a new release from his office.

“We will continue to work together to help families recover from these storms and I encourage all Floridians who are able to consider volunteering in their own communities,” he added.
