ORLANDO, Fla. - The 58-year-old operator of an Orlando acupuncture practice will remain behind bars on charges that he sexually battered a patient on two separate occasions, deputies said.
Min-Chung Tsai was arrested Friday night on a charge of sexual battery and two counts of battery.
An Orange County judge denied Tsai bail Sunday.
Investigators say the alleged victim was a patient at Compassion Acupuncture and Herbal Clinic on Fern Creek Drive.
She claims Tsai battered her once in December and again on Monday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
No one answered at the clinic Saturday, but a former patient of Tsai’s said he benefited from his care there and never had a reason to question the acupuncturist’s behavior.
“I got cured. I’m walking. Everything’s good,” the man said. “It’s just shocking because the guy’s a really good guy.”
The clinic’s website describes Tsai as a medical doctor and “highly qualified” acupuncturist with 20 years of experience in China, Taiwan and the U.S.
