Thief steals undercover OCSO SUV in Daytona Beach; Weapons reported missing

Authorities said someone stole an undercover Orange County Sheriff's Office cruiser that was parked near a Daytona Beach hotel on Thursday.

Channel 9 confirmed deputies left the keys in the vehicle, which was stolen by an unknown suspect.

The thief ditched the car at Breakers Beachfront Park after driving it around briefly, authorities said. Two of three weapons inside the car were missing, authorities said.

Daytona Beach police are dusting the vehicle for evidence. It’s unclear why the Orange County deputies were in Daytona Beach.
