A Red Robin receipt allegedly left by soldier is causing controversy after he used his service as reason to not leave a tip.
The receipt shows a zero sum on the tip total, with a note, reading:
"My tip is the freedom I provided you while serving my country. You're welcome for my service."
The picture first appeared on the "Ranger Up Military and MMA Apparel" Facebook page where people responded harshly to the note.
"That was conceited to me.....like he saved the world all on his own!" a commenter wrote, "he makes real soldiers look bad with that crappy comment. I have bought soldiers meals and still got a tip!"
Another agreed, writing, "makes the rest of us look bad."

Many are noting though, that this might be a "Futurama" joke.
The signature at the bottom looks to be signed "Z. Brannigan" which would allude to the animated show's cocky captain character "Zapp Brannigan."
A Facebook commenter writes, "Z Brannigan refers to a cliché military character. Also no one signs that neatly."
Either way, it's causing a stir among military personnel and servers alike.
