Some sex offenders banned from handing out candy on Halloween

By Jonathan Beaton

As we near closer to Halloween, News 96-5 is asking if registered sex offenders will have any restrictions for the holiday night.

We found out that under Florida law convicted child predators on supervised probation are not allowed to distribute candy to children.

Officials suggest planning a safe route for kids to use while collecting goodies and to alert authorities if they see anything suspicious.

In Orlando alone there are more than 17 hundred sex offenders living within the city limits.
