Senator Marco Rubio has all but said he is running for president in 2016.
News 96.5 Washington Watchdog Jamie Dupree said on Orlando's News at Noon that the Republican from south Florida will be skipping some time in Congress.
"He won't be here next week," said Dupree.
"He's going to be out in California and , I heard Texas, doing some work with his donors and fundraisers."
ABC's Chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl is reporting:
"One of his top advisers told me that his instruction to his staff has been, prepare as if I am running for president. Rubio has hired a top Republican fundraiser to be the finance director of a future presidential campaign and he is also planning travel over the coming weeks to all of the early primary states, Nevada, Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida."
