Rain, storms moving into central Florida

It's going to be a rainy Monday, with a 70 percent chance of storms moving into central Florida, Severe Weather Center 9's Brian Shields said.

It's also going to be mostly cloudy throughout the day, Shields said.

"Numerous rain and storms will move in today. This is not our normal afternoon variety. Storms will arrive this morning in our western zones, then work to the east. Some spots will get over 1-inch of rain. Gusty to damaging winds is possible in some of the storms. Be mindful of the lightning too. The reason we have the higher chance is because of a rare front that is dropping in," said Shields.

Rain chances are expected to taper off to around 30-40-percent for the rest of the week.
