Armed robbery on Colonial Drive prompts lockdown of Orlando Executive Airport

Update - An armed robbery at a Mattress One store along Colonial Drive caused a brief lockdown of Orlando Executive Airport Tuesday night.

According to Orlando Police, around 7:30 p.m., a man entered the store located at 3614 E. Colonial Drive and pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money.

The employee complied, and the suspect left the store with an undetermined amount of cash.

The nearby airport was briefly locked down while police searched the grounds for the suspect.

The man is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He has dark hair and no facial hair.

Orlando Executive Airport was placed on a lockdown around 8 o' clock p.m. Tuesday due to police activity on airport property.

The lockdown was issued as Orlando police searched  for robbery suspects on ground and by helicopter.

No other details are immediately known.
