Dog rescued from flood waters, police give mouth-to-mouth

A dog that was swept away in flood waters in Columbia is lucky to be alive after police officers jumped in and pulled the pooch to safety.

According to the New York Daily News, the two cops were on patrol along the Liboriana River when they saw the dog struggling to stay afloat amid the muddied waters, getting battered by rocks and debris. The officers chased the dog down the river and were finally able to run ahead, jump in the water, and grab the dog as it was passing by.

One officer then began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the dying dog while the other pumped its chest.  The pooch perked up and was given belly rubs for surviving the tragic ordeal.

The dog, named Prince by his rescuers, was given medical treatment and has fully recovered.
