Orlando residents pick up sandbags ahead of possible flooding

Orlando residents worried about flooding on their property are showing up to get free sandbags from the City of Orlando Streets and  Stormwater Division.

The pile of sand, bags and helpful city employees are at 1010 Woods Avenue. The location is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

People who showed up told News 96.5 WDBO that they are concerned about water that has been pooling by their patios, front doors and other locations around their homes.

"The water was at the level of the house, with a little bit more it could get into the house so I thought maybe I should get some sandbags," said one woman who lives in East Orlando.

Across Florida, rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches are possible through Friday.
