National Hurricane Center: Three tropical disturbances brewing in the southeast

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is monitoring not one, not two but three southeast tropical disturbances brewing around Florida, The Gulf and the Carolinas.

Gusty winds and heavy rains are likely to fall over portions of south Florida and the Florida keys later on this weekend as a result of of a disturbance moving west-northwestward through the Straights of Florida.

A second disturbance located 100 miles south of the coast of Louisiana producing showers and thunderstorms there.

The third disturbance is in the Atlantic, expected to move westward at about 10 miles an hour toward the Carolinas in the next couple of days.

As of  10:40am Saturday the National Hurricane Center reported Tropical Storm Gaston is strengthening in the Atlantic and continuing to move northwestward at winds of 70 miles per hour.
