Major League Soccer and players reached a deal to avoid a strike Wednesday.
The MLS and the players were working into the night to agree on a new contract before the season begins Sunday.
A person familiar with the deal told the Associated Press that the owners and players agreed in principle to a five-year labor contract.
Additional details of the agreement were not available.
The Orlando City Soccer Club held a training session at the Citrus Bowl Wednesday morning in anticipation of playing their first game as an MLS team at the facility Sunday.
Following the practice, the players, head coach and owners participated in a media day event, though none would address the negotiations that are going on between the owners and players in Washington, D.C.
This week Orlando City announced that it had sold all 60,000 tickets available for Sunday's opener at the Citrus Bowl, but Wednesday it said it has made an additional 2,000 standing-room-only tickets available for sale.
The city of Orlando has also said it will pay tolls at the Orange Blossom Trail on-ramp to State Road 408 following the game to allow traffic to exit the area more smoothly.
The city is already helping with the cost to run free SunRail service before and after the game.
