The incident started at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Anderson Street in Orlando on May 7.
An undercover Orange County deputy was at a traffic light, behind a truck driven by Danny Parham.
When the light turned green, the undercover deputy said Parham's truck didn't move, so he honked his horn.
"But the driver apparently got very angry, very irate and started to wave a gun," said Jane Watrel, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The deputy followed Parham's truck, got his license tag number and called 911.
According to the deputy, a short time later, Parham turned his truck around and came at the deputy. He said Parham pointed the pistol at him again.
The deputy said he noticed at least one child in the truck.
On Friday, Channel 9's Jeff Deal asked Parham about the deputy's allegations that Parham waved a gun at him.
"I was not waving a gun at him," Parham said. He said he did not realize it was a deputy in the other vehicle.

Parham said he thinks the deputy was confused. He said he had two children in the truck with him when the incident happened, but said he did not have a gun with him that day.
"Do you carry a gun with you in the car?" Deal asked Parham.
"No. I have concealed weapons (permit). I don't carry a gun in my work truck," he said.
Orlando police responded to the 911 call, but couldn't track Parham down that day. He was later arrested on a warrant.
While speaking to Deal, a tearful Parham admitted he used hand gestures during the incident, but continued to deny allegations that he had a gun.
Parham faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm.
Parham was arrested Thursday and booked into jail, but later bonded out.
