Kitten season has arrived in Orlando animal shelters

More than 300 kittens have been brought to the Orange County Animal Services this month signifying the beginning of a period known as "kitten season."

This happens when cats start reproducing at higher rates due to warmer weather usually starting as early as March.

Program Manager of Communications at OCAS, Diane Summers says they are in need of foster parents because many of the kittens are too young for adoption.

Orange County Animal Services holds an orientation every month for interested foster parents to attend.
