ISIS takes ‘Tatooine,’ Star Wars fans warned to stay away

"Star Wars" fans have been told to keep away from popular locations in Tunisia after terrorist activity has been reported in the area.

The now ISIS-inhabited locations are popular tourist spots in the country because of their links to the "Star Wars" movies, such as Tataouine, which inspired the name of the planet Tatooine, Luke Skywalker's home.

The worry began after two arms caches were found in the area this month, including 20,000 round of ammunition and rocket-propelled grenade launchers.

Though Tataouine itself wasn't a shooting location for the popular movie series, nearby areas were, including sites that hosted the slave quarters in "Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace," as well as the home of young Anakin Skywalker and Nefta, where Luke Skywalker was raised.

Several countries have issued warnings to avoid travel to Tunisia, with the United States Embassy citing "periodic security incidents" at the border.

Tataouine is just 60 miles from the border of Libya.

The British government is also asking that "all but essential" travel be avoided to the film locations.

It was just last week that terrorists killed 23 at the National Bardo Museum which was carried out by men who identified as Tunisians that were trained in Libya.
