Florida to build world’s largest ‘gigayacht’

The world’s biggest superyacht, sitting at the size of two football fields, is set to be built in Fort Lauderdale.

The mega ship will be the largest ever seen, rising 88-feet out of the water, and its 656-foot long deck will include 2 helipads.

The $770 million, 9-deck-tall, “

” is the creation of renowned Christopher Seymour, who believes that his behemoth ship will be the beginning of a new era of “gigayachts.”


"Double Century was created to be the next step in the evolution of gigayachts," he explains, "I want the concept to be something magnificent, respected and admired for what the vessel is, not because of who owns, built or designed her, but for her own merits."

The biggest yacht in the world currently is the Azzam, owned by the President of the United Arab Emirates, and is dwarfed by the Double Century by 130 feet.

The record breaking ship will be marketed through brokers 4yacht, which states of Seymour, “Christopher is known for his innovative designs over many different size categories. Double Century brings his exceptional skills to the superyacht market and is sure to push the envelope into the next tier of sophisticated luxury.”
