According to investigators, the Polk City woman struck one car near S.R. 436 and a short time later forced an oncoming car off the road and into a guardrail near Maitland Boulevard.

They said she later struck a car driven by Ralph Walter, 73, head-on.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Walter, who suffered serious injuries in the crash, tried to avoid Marcial's vehicle.

Marcial was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
