A retired Daytona Beach dispatcher was hurt while police were pursuing a suspect, investigators said.
The owner of a stolen car saw his vehicle and confronted the men inside Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police said that’s when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired two shots at the victim.
Daytona Beach police later spotted the suspects and crashed into a car on Nova Road during the chase.
A retired dispatcher suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The suspects meanwhile crashed into a parked car and the driver fled the scene on foot, police said.
The passenger, Trashawn McDonald, was caught and arrested.
The search is still on for the driver.
