NASCAR to present Medal of Honor recipients at Coke Zero 400

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — For the 9th straight year, Medal of Honor recipients will be presented to the crowd at the Coke Zero 400 on July 1 at Daytona International Speedway.

They are Navy Captain Thomas Kelly, Army Sergeant Major Gary Littrell and Army Colonel Walter Joseph Marm. All three served in the Vietnam War.

Throughout the course of the Fourth of July weekend, they will participate in the following events:

• Medal of Honor luncheon on Friday, June 30 at the Bill France Room located in the Daytona International Speedway Ticket and Tours Building

• Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers’ meetings

• Pre-race ceremonies for both Friday night’s Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race and Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race.

• Autograph session in the UNOH Fanzone prior to Saturday night’s race.

“These three men have gone beyond the call of duty in their service to our country,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “Throughout the race weekend, it will be an honor and privilege for the NASCAR community to salute these three men for their extraordinary actions and service to our country.”
