Shots fired during cell phone transaction outside AMC in Altamonte Springs

Altamonte Springs, Fla. — Police in Altamonte Springs are looking for a couple who they say tried to rob another couple of a cell phone outside of a movie theater Saturday evening.

Police say the couples met outside the AMC theater next to the Altamonte Mall shortly before 7 p.m.

Two people tried to sell a cell phone to the buyers. When the seller handed over the phone, the buyers took off without paying and even dragged the seller with their car.

Investigators say the victim fired five shots from their gun at the vehicle, but they got away.

Police say no one was injured, but haven't said if the shooter will be arrested. They do have a concealed weapons permit and are cooperating with the investigation.
