Orlando firefighter injured while battling flames near Valencia College West Campus

Orlando, Fla. — An Orlando firefighter is in the hospital after battling a blaze that happened near Valencia College's West Campus Sunday afternoon.

The firefighter was working to put out the fire that broke out along the 1700 block of South Kirkman Road around 4:15 p.m. at the Verona at Valencia Park.

The firefighter was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Officials have not commented on the status of his condition or how the fire started.

Firefighters have said the fire is under control but three people have been displaced as a result of it.
