Ocala man’s property overrun with monkeys

OCALA, FL — It’s been an issue for years.

An Ocala man said monkeys from Silver Springs State Park are invading his property.

Over the past few days, a camera he placed outside has taken hundreds of photos of roughly 50 rhesus macaques eating from a deer feeder in his backyard. He gave some of those photos to our partner Channel 9 Eyewitness News.

The man lives about four miles away from Silver Springs State Park, which recently shut down parts because of an increased monkey presence.
