New TV ad showcases other 'half' of Orlando

The Metro Orlando Development Economic Development Commission is out with a new branding campaign aimed at educating the rest of the country about Orlando's "other half."

Orlando and Central Florida are already known for Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld and other world class attractions, but local leaders want to showcase Orlando as a destination for high tech business and families.

The Economic Development Commission is working to showcase other parts of Orlando like the University of Central Florida, Full Sail University, Orlando's growing digital media and simulation industries as well as the emerging medical city.

The campaign is called, "Orlando. You don't know the half of it."

The centerpiece of the campaign is a brand new 30 second TV ad that premiered over the weekend.

The commission plans to spend about $12 million over a three year period on a multi-faceted campaign to establish Orlando as much more than just a tourist destination.
