ORMOND-BY-THE-SEA, FL — On Tuesday, a dog was taken to the vet after eating a meatball stuffed with a fish hook at Bicentennial Park in Ormond-by-the-Sea.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of contaminated meat found in the dog park. Upon arriving, a deputy found several meatballs with small fish hooks stuffed inside.
Nine meatballs were found in the park. Deputies said the meatballs were like liverwurst, and felt like they had been unfrozen and left outside.
The park was temporarily shut down while teams searched for more, and reopened after several searches by Volusia County Animal Control.

At this time, there is no suspect descritpion, and park staff did not report seeing anyone suspicious.
