Marion County teaching assistant accused of sexual contact with student

FORT MCCOY, FL — A 37-year old teaching assistant in Marion County has been arrested, accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year old Fort McCoy Middle School student.

Back in July, investigators found Katie Carsey partially clothed in a vehicle leaving a church parking lot, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Carsey told police she was meeting an adult male, and she was allowed to leave.

On Tuesday, a tip lead deputies to the alleged 14-year old male victim, who said he was meeting Carsey that night.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said Carsey, a married mother of two, admitted having sexual contact with the boy.

She is being charged with lewd or lascivious molestation.

Marion County Schools said Carsey had never been in trouble before.
