ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Orange County deputies are investigating a man’s death in west Orange County.
The death was reported Sunday around 3 p.m. on Good Homes Road and Willowwood Street.
Deputies, who were dispatched to a man-down call, found him unresponsive and not breathing after he was spotted by witnesses along the shore of Lake Florence.
Four teens said that they saw the man's body and thought he was sleeping. They were in the area after cleaning up a neighbor's pool.
"We were dropping off a turtle from the pool," said Madison Shea, 14.
"When I first saw the body, I thought it was a homeless guy sleeping on the ground. We just left, didn't think anything of it," said Kyle Yarborough, 16.
The teens left and came back with two other teens, Neo O'Berry, 16 and Gavin Bryant, 18 and they said the body was still there. They yelled at the man, shook his body and when he didn't move, they called deputies.
Deputies said they're investigating the death of the man who was described as black and 25-35 years old, as a homicide.
"We saw some blood on his stomach, dried up blood," Yarborough said.
