Gainesville, Fla. — An Uber driver from Kissimmee was arrested in Gainesville Thursday morning driving what police said is a stolen $240,000 Ferrari.
A Gainesville police officer reported a black Ferrari driving suspiciously slow next to a “high-end red Corvette” according to an arrest report. The officer initially suspected the Corvette which had a temporary tag may have been stolen.
When the officer pulled up next to the Ferrari, which still had the dealer's sticker on the window, his license plate reader recognized the vehicle as reported stolen out of Palm Beach County.
The driver, identified as Hilburn Jay Brendon Hunkins,26, reportedly told Gainesville police that the car belonged to a friend, but could not provide a name or phone number to the officer.
Hunkins was arrested and charged with felony grand theft.
The arrest report did not indicate if Hunkins was on his way to pick up an Uber passenger at the time.

2. Certainly don't steal a $250,000 2017 Ferrari California.
