Elmo gets fired due to Trump’s PBS funding cuts in parody video

"F" is for fired.

In response to President Donald Trump making cuts in funding to PBS, a new parody video is going viral showing how devastating the decision will be...especially for Sesame Street's Elmo.

In the video, the lovable Elmo receives the bad news that after 32 years, he will be losing his job. An unseen man delivers Elmo's pink slip but assures him that he'll be ok.

“Elmo, the Trump administration is gutting all arts and education funding,” says the man.

"But Elmo's rent just went up!" cries the red, furry puppet. "What's going to happen to Elmo's insurance? Elmo has pre-existing conditions!"

Sadly, Elmo isn't the only Sesame Street character getting the boot. Cookie Monster and Telly Monster will also be losing their jobs.

"OK...Elmo will go bye-bye now," Elmo says sadly.

The parody has already racked up more than 11 million views on Facebook.
