Cool front brings Storms and cold air to  Central Florida

Orlando, Fla — 10 p.m. update:  Heavy rain with wind gusts up to 40 mph pushing through Sumter County into northern Lake County.  A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the national weather service for Sumter County shortly after 10 p.m.

As of midnight,  some thunderstorms with lightning were pushing through Volusia County with the most severe activity in Daytona Beach and along the coast.

Meteorologists are watching for the possibility of high winds gusts, as well as, am isolated threat of tornadoes.

Rain and any potential storms will push off by morning and then the cold air will move in for the rest of the weekend.

During the day Saturday, temperatures will slowly fall and hold steady in the mid to upper 50s. A breezy northwest wind will make it feel even colder.

Sunday morning’s temperatures will come in around 40 in the Orlando area, and close to freezing across Marion County.

Sunday will be sunny but the afternoon high will only reach 60. That’s about 15 degrees cooler than our normal high.
