Business as usual, almost, for Cocoa Beach Pier

COCOA BEACH, Fla. — A day after a microburst tore up part of the roof over the Cocoa Beach Pier, the popular spot is open for business and thriving.

A person who answered the phone at the pier told us they are making temporary repairs and waiting for the next step.

Meanwhile, he said beach rentals are up and operating.

Two eateries, Sea Dogs and Keith’s Oyster Bar, reopened for business at the pier.

Three people were slightly injured when the microburst struck around 3:30 on Thursday afternoon.

The strong winds were so isolated that the nearby resorts were not damaged.
