A state prosecutor has been arrested, accused of buying pills from an undercover Brevard County detective.
Brevard County deputies said John Toppa III, 29, of Melbourne was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly purchased Roxicodone pills during an undercover operation.
Deputies said Toppa met with the agent from the Brevard County Sheriff's Special Investigations Unit in a Lowe’s parking lot on South Fiske Boulevard in Rockledge.
A report said that Toppa took full responsibility for his actions.
When deputies searched his vehicle, they found a pill container with three oxycodone and one Roxicodone.
Toppa was out of jail by Thursday morning on an $11,500 bond.
He is facing four counts of purchasing an illegal narcotic.
According to deputies, Toppa was employed by the Brevard/Seminole state attorney's office and was fired Thursday after his arrest.
