A bear was spotted near a school bus stop next to the intersection of Lake Cortez Drive and Oak Street in Apopka this morning.
"I got a call from my neighbor, he told me not to go outside there is a bear in your backyard." said Charles Hafner, who found the bear laying in his yard.
The black bear, which eyewitness say was at least 10-12 feet tall when standing up, was found sleeping behind a shed about 150 feet from the neighborhood school bus stop.
Orange County Sheriff deputies set a temporary stop, and made sure the children got on the bus safe and sound.
When the bear heard Orange County Sheriffs heading in its direction it tried to run. It managed to hop over a neighbor's fence, damaging it in the process.
