Angry Florida man shoots out tires of AT&T trucks parked outside his home

HIALEAH, FLORIDA — A man in Hialeah, Florida is facing several charges for shooting at two AT&T trucks because he didn’t like that they were parked outside his home.

Cellphone video posted online shows Jorge Jove, 64, walking up to the AT&T vehicles and shooting out the tires and at the body of the trucks. According to the utility employees doing work in the area, Jove was upset that they were parked near his driveway and asked them to leave. When they told him they would leave after they were done doing repairs, Jove took matters into his own hands, grabbed a gun, and started shooting.

“He's shooting the truck right now. There's a guy shooting the tires and shooting the engines and everything,”  AT&T technician Derrick Taylor tells a  911 dispatcher. “Someone’s up in the bucket truck and he can’t come down because he’s shooting the truck.”

Jove reloads his gun several times, according to the Daily Mail, and shoots a second truck.

Hialeah Police Sgt. Carl Zogby says when authorities arrived, they found the trucks riddled with bullet holes. Zogby says Jove shot a total of 18 times.

“He seemed to be a quiet man, and something made him snap today,” he said.

Jove was arrested and is now charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and two counts of felony vandalism.

Police say Jove worked for  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue  for 34 years before retiring and has no criminal background.
