FSU president suspends greek life after death, drugs

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A student of Florida State University died over the week at an off-campus house party, then another student was charged with cocaine in an unrelated case, which led to an announcement today by FSU President John Thrasher to suspend all Greek Life at the school.

“We’ve got a serious problem,” he said and announced the formation of a group that will include representatives from fraternities and sororities to create what he called “a new normal.”

Other non-Greek student groups are also on notice not to serve alcohol at any of their gatherings.
