Chris Lucas was unloading scrap metal from his truck when he was accidently knocked himself unconscious.
"I got out of the truck to take the stuff out and I think I dropped something underneath the tailgate," he recounted. "After that, I don't really remember what happened."
Luckily for Chris his daughter knew just what to do.
Little Cadence Lucas ran a quarter of a mile to get help for her dad.
"Most kids would have sat there until their parent woke up," he told The Iron Mountain Michigan News. "She took the initiative to run out even though it was dark."
Cadence knew the area and ran to the home of neighbor to get help.
Chris began to wake up after an ambulance crew arrived but spent the night in a hospital just to be cautious.
Lucas is a volunteer firefighter and he taught Cadence some of the emergency measures they use.
"I thought it was kind of cool she remembered that."
